A while back I mentioned there's one thing I'm learning to like about my shyness. I started being aware that I'm really good at observing other people. It's actually something I look forward to doing now when I'm in social situations. When my friend Evan and I are together, we like to watch others and make up interesting stories about the people we're watching. We take turns adding different aspects to their story and I have to say we've come up with some interesting plots, twists and turns, and even learned a little something new about ourselves by making these stories.

These are some pics I've come across lately that made me curious about what their story is. Some are sexy, some are serious, some are a little silly, some are a little ambiguous. Which one or two or three grab you and make you want to know more?

Number 1. I like this one. They look so serious.
There's so much that can be seen in

Number 2. Was this a spontaneous kiss
or did the guy on the right say something
that prompted the other guy to kiss him?

Number 3. Was this the first time they ever
held hands in public? Wonder what's
going through their minds?

Number 4. I have no clue what's happening here.
So many stories. Kinda ambiguous.

Number 5. Do they have the hots for each other but are
playing it cool? Trying to act all macho? Or are they just
talking about their workout routines? Or is this
a budding man-crush?

Number 6. Did he get stood up? Was he bullied earlier and
wonders where he goes from here? Is he anxious about
asking a cute guy out on a date? Did he just come out
to his family and it didn't go well?

Number 7. What's the guy on the right using his hands for?
Why is the guy on the left not paying attention?

Number 8. Is this in the middle of the night and the awake guy
wishes he had told the other one something earlier?

Number 9. Trying to be oh-so-cool

Number 10. I have no clue. None at all. Your guess
is as good as mine!

Number 11. Is he coming home from some event?
Is he getting ready to go out? What's going
through his mind?

Number 12. Can't see his face. Is he angry?
Embarrassed? Tired? Anxious? Frustrated?
Or just waiting for his roomie to finish his
shower so he can get ready to go out?
What's he thinking about?
Very ambiguous.

Our contribution to the Penis Museum

Don't even ask how I stumbled on the Icelandic Penis Museum, also known as the Icelandic Phallological Museum.
Just accept the fact that I found it and let's leave it at that.

And after extensive research into this worthwhile project, Brad and I want to make an important announcement. After much thought and soul-searching, we've both decided to make our own contribution to their collection. That's right. Being the charitable individuals Brad and I are, we want to offer our own dicks to their collection.

Yes, you heard that right. It was a difficult decision, but we feel it's the right one.

It's been an important goal of ours to have a positive impact in our world. We want to do more than just go to school, go to work, go out to movies, go out to eat, day in and day out. We really want to have an impact in the world.

According to their website, they have more than 250 penises and penile parts, including 4 specimens belonging to Homo Sapiens. The purpose of the museum is to "...undertake serious study into the field of phallology in an organized, scientific fashion."

I know. It's a sacrifice for both of us, but we really want to make an important contribution to the world of science. We've spent a great deal of time and thought on this, in addition to talking to family and friends and finally decided this is a way for us to help make the world a better place.

So both of us are offering them our dicks. We're not looking for any praise or recognition. This is a purely selfless act of love and concern for the advancement of science and humankind.

You see, we currently have 2 cans of Spotted Dick just sitting in our kitchen pantry and we have no plans for these specimens, so we are packaging and shipping our dicks to the museum. We're hoping our dick contribution will help them as they advance their study of phallolgy.

Why the cans of Spotted Dick instead of the real thing? Well, to be honest, the research we did into a penectomy just sounded, well, too painful. So we're donating our Spotted Dick instead.

We are also becoming honorary ambassadors of the Penis Museum and would like to encourage all males reading this to at least consider making their own contribution to this very worthwhile scientific cause. The field of phallology will be stimulated beyond belief. And the "output" for humankind will be great. So we call on all males to ~~cum~~ come to this worthwhile cause and donate all the dick you can. Thank you.

So, big stuff happening.. My Uncle passed away on Friday. My mom called, which I wasn't expecting, as he was my Dad's brother, but I guess my Dad wasn't up to calling.
I am off to the UK in a few days to see my Dad, and to help out with all of that, if I can. I will at least take him out for a pint, that's the British thing to do. ;)

I 'knew' it was going to happen, on some level, I was thinking about him a lot. I went out that previous night, and bought him a card I was going to send the next day, then got the call from Mom! I missed him, but he was really in my thoughts all that evening. We do know.

A last minute international trip is not cheap. I blew out my savings on that one.. But, I'm sure Dad will offer a little help towards it. It is kind of nice, to be going home again so soon, after I was there last time less than 6 months ago. It feels like a very nice emotional continuity. Usually it's so long between visits, so much changes, and I feel like a stranger in my own country. I should get back more often.

My passport expires very soon. I can just squeeze in this trip before that runs out, I would have been screwed if that had all happened a month later, even. Something told me not to renew just yet, and to hold on to it. If I had done what logically I should have done, and sent it away, I'd not have been able to travel!!

Trust those instincts, even if you think they are just procrastination. Something was definitely nagging at me not to send it off just yet.

TODAY marks 10 years since the start of the Iraq War, which officially ended in 2011. Here are 10 numbers to help put the war in perspective.

The number of Weapons of Mass Destruction found. After the 9/11 attacks in 2001, then US president George W Bush, supported by British PM Tony Blair and Australia's John Howard, argued that Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein had to be removed to stop him providing weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups.

That's the number of Iraqi doctors who remain in the country after virtually half the country's doctors left in the last decade to seek a better, safer life elsewhere.

The number of McDonald's restaurants in Iraq. The one in Baghdad exists purely for the remaining fragments of the US army who are over there in various post-war roles. But don't assume American culture totally failed to gain a foothold. There is a restaurant in northern Iraq called MaDonal which serves "Big Macks".

The average daily summer temperature, in degrees Celsius, of Baghdad in summer. Troops reported unbearable heat while fighting in full combat gear.

The widely accepted total of coalition casualties in Iraq. At least 4,400 of these were American. Australia lost two soldiers, David Nary and Jake Kovco, both of whom died in accidents rather than combat. It is also worth mentioning that over 3,000 US contractors died in Iraq.

The number of Iraqis granted humanitarian visas in Australia over the last five years. We issued 36,658 humanitarian visas to people from Afghanistan, the second country on the list.

An extremely conservative estimate of the number of civilians killed in both the initial invasion and the ongoing battle against insurgents. There is no single source for this number, but most estimates range from 100,000 to 170,000.

Quite coincidentally, this is the estimated number of ordinary Australians who marched against the Iraq War in marches across the country in February 2003. The marches were populated not just by your standard anti-war dreadlocked hippies, but by people from all walks of life who could see no logical reason to send young soldiers to their deaths.

That's how much the war has cost the US government. That's one thousand billion, by the way, and it'll soar well over that when interest payments and other factors are taken into account.
